This Privacy Policy describes how cupd ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services. We've written it to be clear and honest. By creating an account or using cupd, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect only what we need to make the app work:

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your display name, username, email address, and authentication details used to securely sign you in.
• Location information. With your permission, we use your device's location to show coffee shops near you and to support location-based features. You control location access at any time through your device settings, and the app continues to function (with reduced location features) if you decline.
• Check-ins, ratings, and reviews. We store the coffee shops you check in to, the star ratings you give across different categories, any notes you add, and your in-app activity such as points earned.
• Profile content. Information you choose to add to your profile, including an optional profile photo.
• Social activity. If you follow other users or are followed, we store those connections to enable social features.
• Basic technical information. Limited information necessary to operate and secure the service, such as data required to deliver content to your device.

2. What we do NOT collect

We want to be clear about this: cupd does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites, we do not sell your data, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

3. How we use your information

• To provide core features — discovering coffee shops, recording your check-ins, saving your reviews, and tracking your visits.
• To personalize what you see, such as nearby shops and recommendations based on your preferences.
• To enable social features, including following other users and viewing shared activity.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app.
• To respond to your support requests.

4. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Your information may be shared only in these limited ways:

• With other users. Information you choose to make public — such as your username, profile photo, reviews, and activity — may be visible to other people using the app.
• With service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to operate the app, including services for authentication, data hosting, and storage. These providers process data only on our behalf and only as needed to deliver the service. We do not name specific vendors here, but they are bound by their own security and privacy obligations.
• For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including securing data in transit and limiting access to it. Authentication is handled through secure sign-in. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information using industry-standard practices.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate operational reasons.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction. You can view and edit much of your information directly in the app, including your profile and reviews.
• Location control. You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device settings.
• Deleting reviews. You can remove your reviews within the app at any time.
• Account deletion. You can request full deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below.

8. Children's privacy

cupd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

If you use cupd from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be transferred to and processed in another country. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated within the app.
